Will This Stop the Violence?

Is the beating of an 83-year-old man enough for the GOP?

“I could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue and get away with it.”

“Rough ’em up. Don’t be too gentle as you escort him out.”

“Police, you know how you protect their heads when you put ’em in the car? Don’t do that anymore. Let ’em hit their heads.”

“Proud Boys, stand back and stand by.”

“We have to fight like hell,”

“Let them keep their guns. They’re not here to hurt me.”

Now that Paul Pelosi has been beaten by someone calling for his wife, hit with a hammer and had his skull fractured, many of the GOP big guys are calling for an end to the violence. All those Capital policemen didn’t matter. That woman who was shot didn’t matter. Calls to hang Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi didn’t matter.

January 6th was a “legitimate political discourse.” Violence for your cause is fine. If you can’t beat them at the polls, beat them physically. It’s all for a good cause.

We’re right, and you’re wrong, and we’ll beat you to a bloody pulp if you disagree. If we have to have a second Civil War, so be it. We’ve got plenty of guns to fight it with.
