Trump selling the Bible is blasphemy

The best representation of Trump selling Bibles can be seen in Spike Dolomite’s article “Trump Bibles for Sale.” The picture is worth a thousand words. It’s exactly what should have happened.

Trump says the Bible is his favorite book, even more than his own (ghost-written) Art of the Deal. When asked in an interview what some of his favorite Bible quotes are, he said he didn’t want to discuss them, because “it’s very personal.” When asked “Old Testament or New?” he said, “Equal. It’s just a great book.” I find that a strange question to ask anyway, because the Old Testament is the basis for all three of the biggest religions: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Christianity begins in the New Testament.

In fact, I find it very strange that so many evangelists quote the Old Testament so often. When people fight over having the Ten Commandments posted in public places, I always wonder why that’s an issue. Jesus boiled the Ten Commandments into two: “Love the Lord thy God with all thy soul, and love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the laws and the prophets.” The Ten Commandments are Jewish.
