So the Previous President Has Finally Been Indicted
But could he still be elected?
Should a twice impeached, twice indicted person still be allowed to run for president again?
I understand the very important premise that we are all innocent until proven guilty. I’m trying to put myself in a Republican’s shoes. Nope, can’t do that.
Okay, I will try to imagine a democratic nominee running after having been impeached twice and indicted twice. Could I still vote for him/her? The closest I can get is Clinton being impeached for lying to Congress. I felt that he never should have been charged while he was in office. It wasn’t like he was charged with anything that endangered the country or our national security. I thought he was a good president and would have voted for him again.
The previous president was impeached twice on things that did endanger the country. The Senate refused to find him guilty, like Clinton, so he stayed in office. He lost the election.
He’s been out of office now for over two years. He is a private citizen. He’s being accused of things he did after he was President, so far, anyway. He may still be brought up on charges related to the election and January 6th.
