Raise the Debt Ceiling by Hurting the Little People

The GOP has a great plan to hold the country hostage

I’m not a business woman or a math major or a politician, but I do understand a little of what the GOP is doing.

The debt ceiling must be raised, so we can pay our bills for things we’ve already bought. To default would be to ruin not only our economy and credit rating but the world’s economy.

A “clean” bill to raise the ceiling is to simply vote to do it. The GOP did it for Trump with no problem.

In order to become Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy agreed to the MAGA morons’ demands that the bill to raise the ceiling would not be “clean”; in other words, there would be concessions demanded.

The concessions? A 22% cut across the board on all social programs, including (but not limited to) veterans’ benefits, SNAP, Social Security, food stamps — pretty much anything that benefits us “little people.” “We must cut spending!” cries the GOP. They only cry that when they are not in total power.

There is another way to make money to pay the bills: repeal the last two tax cuts to the wealthiest of all of us. Those cuts raised the debt. Get rid of them and reduce the debt.
