Medium Has Let Me Down Lately

Maybe it’s not the site’s fault, though

Maybe it’s the mood of the country. Maybe it’s just me. I used to look forward to visiting Medium several times a day. I’d find interesting articles to read, and I enjoyed writing and watching the money I was making every month, some months much better than others.

But lately, Medium doesn’t feel as good. The money is part of it, surely; the occasional $100 month has been replaced by $20 months if I’m lucky. I feel underappreciated (and slightly more broke.)

The articles are mostly depressing, too. Politically, we’ve gone from an unbelievable two years of progress to Kevin McCarthy and threats to Social Security and Medicare and having the craziest of the crazy GOP having way too much power. They shouldn’t have any power. They should be in jail, not in Congress.

I’m tired of Matt Gaetz being “investigated” for sex crimes. How long do “investigations” go on? It seems like it’s been years.

And I’m tired of reading about, hearing about, and seeing the former Cheeto in Chief. He’s committed every crime in the book (short of murder, I think) but nothing gets done. “Justice delayed is justice denied” probably refers to innocent before proven guilty, but we know he’s guilty. We know what he’s done. How much more proof does anyone…
