I was so happy to have him back

For years, I relied on Jon Stewart and The Daily Show on Comedy Central to help me understand politics — what issues were important and where people stood on them. He did it with satire and comedy, making learning fun and clarifying things for me while making me laugh.

I was thrilled to hear he was coming back to The Daily Show for this election, even if it was only one day a week. Now we’d get some truth, some hard facts enfolded in humor.

What I heard was harping on the age of the two candidates, mostly on Biden. He talked about how unexciting this election is between two old men. He sounded like we could change our choices, somehow that these two candidates could be replaced with younger, more interesting people.

I’ll be honest: Joe Biden was not my first choice for president in 2020. I thought he was old and had too much baggage. I was all for someone younger, since Bernie Sanders couldn’t change his age. When Biden was chosen to run, I was not thrilled, but there was no chance I’d vote for that other (I use the term loosely) human being. (I think he’s human.)

Joe Biden has done a fantastic job as president. He accomplished more in two years than most presidents did in eight years. He has continued to try to get things done in these second two…
