It’s the Little Things
That can drive you NUTS!
Things happen. Problems arise. That’s life. You solve the problem and move on. But what if the problem keeps coming back, or you can’t find a solution, or you keep getting the run around from the people who are supposed to be helping you? That’s when you want to bang your head against the wall or punch something.
My Alexa suddenly decided I live in Atlanta and gives me notifications for weather conditions there. I live in Raeford, North Carolina. I have been to the Alexa app at least five times to try to fix the problem. Finally I gave up and just feel bad for the people in Atlanta.
For two weeks, we’ve had a problem with our HVAC, which heats and cools the house. At first, it was cold in here, so I called a repairman to check the unit. He said there was nothing wrong, that it must be the thermostat. Our thermostat is one of those high-tech things connected to the Wi-fi. Only people with engineering degrees can understand it. The furnace guy told me to change the setting so that the temperature didn’t go down so low at night that it made the unit work too hard in the morning to get the heat back up.
No problem. I know how to set the thermostat, so I did what he said. Suddenly, it was 85 degrees in here. I turned on the AC to cool it off. It took it down to 82. We slept with the window…
