I'm not sure I'd call the other group "religious." I think I'd call them hypocrites. They go to church because it makes them feel "holier than thou." There are even a lot of churches that don't follow Christ's teachings. Any "Christian" church that uses mostly the Old Testament isn't Christian. How you live your life is more important than church attendance, as you saw with the salad people.
