I'm an old lady, and I've never said that to any new mother. My first was a daughter, too, but she was the equivalent of your son. I had a second child for two reasons: I didn't want to raise an only child, and I switched husbands between the 2 kids. My son was my dreamboat child. I grew up in a family of 3 kids, and my father used to say, "I have three kids, one of each." I didn't take a chance with a third one.
