If Our Government Is Corrupt
Who’s to blame?
If indeed our government is corrupt and broken, whose fault is it? Easy answer: ours.
We vote our representatives into office at every level. From dog catcher to President of the United States, every election is a chance at a do-over. If our government is so bad, why aren’t we doing over?
The way I understand it, the 40% or so of the population of this country is angry. They feel left out, overlooked, not represented. They believe it when they’re told the government is failing them. They believe it when they’re told that only Trump can save them. Why he didn’t save them the last time he was in office, I’ll let them decide.
In my own family, I hear, “It doesn’t matter who I vote for. They’re all corrupt. They are all the same.” What breaks my heart is I hear that particular piece of wisdom from my grandson. Mind you, this is a 25-year-old man who has a good job, owns his own home, and has had more vehicles in the last 7 years than I have in the 51 years I’ve been driving. He chose not to go to college, got into an apprenticeship that paid him as he learned his trade, and he now makes more money in a week than I ever did in a month. What’s his problem?
He and his mother (my daughter) are convinced that they’ll never get Social Security, because it will be broke long…
