I was an adjunct English professor at two community colleges for all but 4 of my 34 years of teaching. I loved my job. I was forced into retirement when I moved from upstate NY to NC, where my masters in English Education and 34 years of experience didn't even get me interviews. I miss my classrooms and even the students who were there in body only.
