I have over 500 entries on Medium, and I've never been boosted, heaved, or hoisted. My earnings have gone from at least $35/month to not quite $10 this month (after I deduct the $5 I pay to be able to write.) I write because I enjoy it. There's really no other reason to do it. No money, no appreciation, except from my few friends. But I won't stop, because I'm 71 and have a lot to say, damnit.
