I didn't have a plan for retirement because I hadn't planned to retire. Unfortunately, I couldn't find a teaching position after my move from NY to NC, and that meant I missed my main way to meet new people and make friends. Then Covid hit, so it's been 3 years of nearly solitary confinement. After 34 years of working with friends and students, it's still a shock I'm not over. I do wish you were my neighbor.
