I certainly did enjoy my long vacations. I taught Basic Skills, which is grammar and organization of writing, and Freshman Composition, which was more of the same but longer assignments.

For literature, I taught poetry, short stories, and plays, sometimes short novels. I think poetry was my favorite--some of Shakespeare's sonnets, Tennyson's "Ulysses," and Robert Frost, most of whose works I hated, "Home Burial." If you've never read it, please do. It is incredible.
